Uganda's national parks are brimming with wildlife, and you will truly get the chance to come face to face with extraordinary nature of the course of the eight days.
The most unique part of the trip is coming face to face with the rarest primate in the world, the mountain gorilla - and you will get to spend up to an hour observing a whole family in their natural habitat.
Day 1: Queen Elizabeth
We will leave Entebbe and/or Kampala early and cross the mighty White Nile before driving westward on the main Kampala highway to the famous Queen Elizabeth National Park, where wildlife is abundant. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge FB.
Day 2: Queen Elizabeth
An early morning game drive will allow you to meet wildlife face to face from the safety of our luxury vehicle. A wonderful boat ride up the Kazinga Channel this afternoon will introduce you to thousand of hippos, crocodiles and a myriad of bird life. Afterward we'll take sundowners at a lodge. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge FB.
Day 3: Kyambura Gorge
After another morning game drive we head over to Kyambura Gorge, the habitat of chimpanzees. Get your walking shoes on as we move through bush and jungle to spend time with our fascinating relatives, watching them swing through the trees or move quickly across the ground in front of us. We will stay within the park in the famous tree climbing lion region of Ishasha. Dinner and overnight at Jacana Safari Camp - FB.
Day 4: Bwindi Impenetrable
Another game drive on a different circuit may bring you in contact with the large herds of elephant fleeing over the border into Congo after their nightly raids on the agricultural lands to the east. Huge herds of buffalo and antelope are out on the grassy plains and you may even glimpse a giant forest hog. We will spend the rest of the day in the park, relaxing and watching the game come to us, or talk with the rangers about their fascinating and varied roles. Day 5: Bwindi Impenetrable
Rise with the sun and trek into the green cloaked and misty Mountains to find the world's rarest primate. The rainforest will drip around you as you first hear the breaking of bamboo, signaling the group is near, and then you will be face to face with one of the most delightful and fascinating creatures in the world. After an hour's viewing you will make the trek back to your accommodation, where you will tumble into bed after an exhausting and exhilarating day. Dinner and overnight at Kitandara Safari Camp FB.
Day 6: Mbarara
Today we will drive through twisted and winding roads, and Lake dotted countryside, towards Mbarara. Lunch, dinner and overnight at Lake View Regency Hotel FB.
Day 7: Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast, depart for Lake Mburo National Park. Zebra, buffalo, Ugandan Kob and plenty of other species abound in this beautiful park. We overnight near a Lake, where wildlife is sure to put in an appearance. Evening boat cruise on Lake Mburo. Dinner and overnight at Mihingo Lodge FB.
Day 8: Lake Mburo National Park - Entebe - Depart
Fancy a walk through the wild? This morning we are going to take a walking safari, complete with a ranger, so we can get up close and personal on ground level to many of the beautiful and free animals of the park. Later today we will make our way back to Kampala or Jinja, the end of your Best of Uganda safari.
